My
Story

After being diagnosed with PTSD, I had no idea what life would look like. My entire life thus far had been riddled with trauma. In my journey away from the abuse I experienced, I began to question if living a full life was within reach.
As I continued to learn more about my trauma I experienced and rewrote my future with my own autonomy, I found that I can live more fully than I ever thought before.
Life may never be the same for me as my peers, but I learned that my diagnosis does not define me. I stopped viewing myself as “broken” or “needing to be fixed” as this was a condition that may stay with me throughout my life. Despite that, it does not hold me back.

Within overcoming my trauma, I’ve learned so much patience, grace, self-defined worth, and love for myself. I remember that growth isn’t linear, but we are all capable of living the life we dream despite our circumstances and past experiences. We just have to be willing to ask for help. That is what the Mariposa Project is all about.

Trauma is a difficult thing to overcome, but it is never impossible. We have a curriculum made through not only my journey through trauma and treatment but also through collaboration with experts and insights from research in correlating fields. We fundraise in efforts to help benefit those in needs’ journeys out of traumatic circumstances and into a new life with autonomy and self-defined success.

Through The Mariposa Project, we can show that growth is inevitable when given the right resources, allowing you to spread your wings and fly into the life you were destined for.
